Region: Mosel, Germany
Grape: 50% Riesling, 50% Muller-Thurgau
philip lardot is a young winemaker who spent a significant amount of time working under mosel winemaking legend, ulrich stein. with that stein influence, since 2017, philip has been working on his own wines & they are certainly special
for this wine, half of the grapes see 2 weeks on skins - the rest is directly pressed; then together the wine spends 5 months aging in barrels. the wine is electric, herbaceous & soulful - more of a sentimental & mineral-driven expression of the mosel than we're used to, but we like emotion over here
