Grape: 100% Cinsault, from a small lot of 68-year-old vines
these particular vines are located in a valley where they're the only real source of food for birds & other wildlife - as a result the birds eat most of the grapes on the vines every year & the farmer just kind of left the vines alone for the birds - anything he could harvest, he'd throw in with the rest of his grapes which headed for a large co-op winery - winemaker pieter walser asked the farmer a few years back if he could cover the vineyard with bird nets, & for the first time ever (at the age of 65) the vineyard was able to produce its own wine!
a light & ethereal palate of dainty light red fruits, enticing spices, sweet herbal notes & silky tannins
